REDEVELOPMENT PLAN AMENDMENTS – REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF FRESNO REDEVELOPMENT
In the spring of 2010, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Fresno engaged RSG to amend one of its more recent redevelopment plans to extend eminent domain authority in the Airport Area Revitalization Redevelopment Project Area. The Project is comprised of four unique sub-areas that surround the Fresno-Yosemite International Airport. Each sub-area was analyzed on an individual basis to document remaining blight and illustrate the potential for future redevelopment. The Airport Area is traditionally home to industrial and warehousing uses, many of which are no longer viable on the existing small lots. As the Agency has been successful in recruiting major tenants, such as Gap, Inc., to the Airport Area, the amendment will offer the Agency a full toolbox to partner with property owners on land assembly projects where needed to facilitate redevelopment.
